Leticia Méndez García’s biography
My name is Leticia, I am a Mechanical and Materials Engineer with a PhD in Materials Science from the University of Cambridge in the United Kingdom, however I am an artist by birth.
Since early age I showed interest in drawing, and soon, my parents realized that I had a special skill in it, so they decided to sign me up for oil painting classes at the age of 5 years old and I made my first painting at the age of 7 years old: ‘Clown_Leticia’
Since then I have always attended oil painting classes with teachers with degrees in Fine Arts until I was 20 years old. After that period, I have continued creating paintings and drawings myself, experimenting with different techniques, such as mixing pencil and sanguine, and more recently acrylic on canvas.
Besides this, I have also taken several courses by Christies’ to understand better the art industry and art business:
– Art business essentials: Art as an Asset Class.
– Negotiating the Art Market: Collecting, Buying and Selling Art.
Ultimately art is my passion and my goal is to awaken feelings to the audience who look at my art works.
Each person has a specific personality and experiences in life, and I want that everyone feels something that relates to those whenever they look at my art works.
